Is self-assessment worth it?
dr Piotr Steinbrich
Self-assessment has been an integral part of FL curricula since the introduction of the European Language Portfolio. Its form, however, is often reduced to can-do’s, which almost invariably amounts to students mechanically ticking off the statements without the necessary reflection and in-depth analysis. In this session dr Piotr Steinbrich will offer different ways of conducting self-assessment in the language classroom. He will also try to contextualize it in a broader context of positive psychology, providing the necessary basis for learners’ willingness and ability to conduct self-assessment sessions.
